A walk like no other!
One Saturday night, we were told that the ones who were in a mood to go for a morning walk to
the river flowing by Horawalla, must be ready at seven in the morning. We were all surprised as
well as excited. The next morning, the junior dorm was filled with excited, chirpy voices as most
of us were awake before time.
Four teachers escorted us through the
Ecole gates to the river. As the Ecole gates
swung close behind us, our chatters
ceased and our observations began. We saw weaver bird's nest, kingfishers, humming birds.
On our way to the river, we saw different
flora and fauna. The juniors rushed to
collect peculiar-looking stones as we
reached the banks of the river. The sixth
graders seemed the most interested. We
also dipped our feet in the water and
stayed on the banks for quite a time,
cherishing our time outdoors.
Then we started off towards Ecole, tired. We reached school exhausted, but extremely joyful
from our experience. This was a special morning walk which would always be engraved in my
memory.
